What is P3O? - P3O Definition
P3O stands for Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices and allows an organisation to establish a decision enabling/delivery structure for change.
P3O is largely about integrating Programmes & Projects into your everyday business enabling the successful delivery of Transformational Programmes.
Scarcity of resources forces organisations to choose between, and compare various Project & Programme investments. The P3O Course allows an organisation to make objective decisions and understand if it is selecting the best projects for delivery.
The P3O structure enables organisations to monitor their Business As Usual Service and Product Delivery. How many projects and programmes is that organisation capable of starting, planning, delivering, or closing ready for benefit realisation can it carry out at any one time? P3O allows portfolio managers to access and understand this.
Maintaining a knowledge database to aid planners, capturing learning, ensuring corporate or enterprise planning systems are used effectively and consistently, are all functions of a P3O.
