Online exams

With remote online proctoring you can sit your exam from almost anywhere, provided you have a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. 

Choose when to arrange your exam

As your exam is taken online, you decide the most convenient time to take it. Once booked, at your chosen slot, you’ll connect to a live invigilator who will supervise the session in real time. This service is available across all PRINCE2® qualifications listed below. Please note that arranging your exam booking is your responsibility. 

PeopleCert

Remote exams are available for all PRINCE2 qualifications. Within 48 hours of purchasing your training, you’ll receive instructions to register on the PeopleCert portal. Once registered, you can select a date and time that suits you. For open book assessments, only official printed manuals or VitalSource e-books are accepted. If using an e-book, it must be accessed from a separate device. 

On the day of your exam

To avoid delays, please make sure you: 

  • Have valid ID ready to show the invigilator 
  • Provide any prerequisite documentation 
  • Remain the only person in the room 
  • Minimise background noise 
  • Use a well-lit room (without glare on the camera) 
  • Keep your desk clear of materials 
  • Close unnecessary applications such as browsers and messaging tools 

Technical requirements

Before sitting your exam, it’s essential to make sure your equipment meets the technical standards required by the examining body, PeopleCert. 

For Windows

Your computer must meet these requirements: 

  • Supported operating systems: Windows® 8, 8.1, 10 (not Windows 10S), or 11. Note: The Microsoft Store version of Exam Shield is only supported on Windows 10 build 17763 or newer. 
  • Minimum hardware: Dual-core 2.4GHz processor or faster, 2GB RAM. 
  • Internet: Broadband connection with a minimum speed of 4Mbps. 
  • Display: 15-inch or larger screen, resolution 1024x768 or higher. 
  • Audio: Speakers and microphone (headsets can only be used during onboarding). 
  • Input devices: Keyboard (set to English characters) and mouse or equivalent. 
  • Camera: A single rotatable webcam, either built-in or external. Mobile devices cannot be used.

For Mac

For Mac users, the requirements are as follows: 

  • Operating systems supported: macOS Sierra (10.12) through to macOS Monterey (12). 
  • Camera and microphone: Mac-compatible webcam and microphone (Mac Mini and Mac Pro require external devices). 
  • Internet: Broadband connection of at least 4Mbps. 
  • Keyboard and mouse (set to English characters). 
  • Audio: Speakers and microphone (headsets permitted only for onboarding).

When are online exams available?

Exams can be booked at any time, day or night, throughout the week. At your chosen slot, you’ll connect with a live invigilator who will guide you through the process and provide support if technical issues arise. 

How soon will I receive my exam results from PeopleCert?

You’ll see a preliminary result on your screen immediately after finishing. Official confirmation is usually sent within two working days. 

Can I cancel or rearrange my exam booking?

Yes, you can request to cancel or reschedule your exam through the PeopleCert portal. Please note that charges may apply if you attempt to reschedule your exam within 48 hours of your booked date and time. Expired vouchers or codes cannot be extended. If this happens, a new booking at full price will be required.
