PRINCE2® 7 Foundation and Practitioner Blended Learning

Our PRINCE2® Foundation & Practitioner blended course begins with the Foundation course, where learners will gain a solid understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology through our engaging multimedia e-learning platform. Following this, you'll transition to a virtual or in-person classroom for the Practitioner course, where, alongside expert trainers and fellow participants, you'll explore how to apply PRINCE2 principles in real-world scenarios.

About the course

With our blended learning you’ll benefit from the best of both worlds, use our e-learning to pass your PRINCE2 Foundation exam before moving into an in-person or virtual classroom setting for Practitioner. 

The course combines interactive multimedia training, workshops, video, practical exercises using our PRINCE2 project simulation, mock exam simulators, paper-based exercises and access to our PRINCE2 training experts throughout the entire programme. 

Duration

The blended learning course format is as follows:

  • PRINCE2 Foundation online learning access provided upon purchase
  • PRINCE2 Foundation exam: must be taken online via remote web proctor and pass confirmation received prior to attending your workshop
  • Two-day PRINCE2 Practitioner workshop
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner exam: must be taken online via remote web proctor 

By the end of the Foundation learning you should:

  • Understand key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2
  • Understand how the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
  • Understand the importance of people insuccessful projects
  • Understand the PRINCE2 practices and how they are applied throughout the project
  • Understand the PRINCE2 processes and how they are carried out throughout the project

By the end of the Practitioner learning you should:

  • Understand how to apply the PRINCE2 principles in context
  • Understand how to apply effective people management in successful projects
  • Understand how to apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 practices in context
  • Understand how to apply (and tailor) relevant aspects of PRINCE2 processes in context

Materials

Course material for your Practitioner workshop: 

If you opt for classroom delivery you will be provided with a printed version of the ILX course material. This will be issued on day one of your course.

If you select virtual delivery material will be accessible via the ILX portal. Full instructions with a link to the portal will be issued once your course has been confirmed. The course materials will be provided in a PDF format.

Digital & hardcopy official manual: Your will be sent an email invitation within 48 hours of the release of your elearning to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to access the digital version of your manual. Please note: There is a 5-year limitation in accessing your eBook.The hardcopy will be shipped to your chosen address within 48 hours of purchase.

Hardcopy PRINCE2 process map: If you decide to purchase the hardcopy PRINCE2 process map as an optional extra it will be shipped to your chosen address within 48 hours of the release of your elearning.

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation within 48 hours of your purchase to register on the Peoplecert portal for the Foundation exam. Once registered you will be able to book your online Foundation exam at a date and time of your choice. Once you have booked your Practitioner course you will be sent another email invitation approximately two working days prior to course commencement. This will enable you to book your online Practitioner exam at a date and time of your choice.  You are responsible for booking your own exam. Please note: We would like to inform you that during open book exams candidates can use only official hard copy books or softcopy e-books available only through VitalSource on a secondary device. 

Recertification: This certification has a renew within three years of the award date to remain current. There are multiple ways to recertify, learn more about the recertification options on the PeopleCert website.

Exam format

The format of the Foundation exam is as follows:

  • Multiple choice
  • 60 minutes
  • Closed book
  • 60% pass mark (36/60)

The format of the Practitioner exam is as follows:

  • 150 minutes
  • 70 questions (each worth 1 mark)
  • Open book (The PRINCE2 7 official book, should be used but no other material is allowed)
  • 60% pass mark (42/70)

There are no formal pre-requisites for the Foundation exam but you must have passed the Foundation prior to taking the Practitioner exam.
