AXELOS (the PRINCE2 accrediting body) has officially changed the name of ‘PRINCE2 2017’ to ‘PRINCE2 6th edition’. The qualification itself has not changed, and still conforms to the 2017 syllabus.

About the course

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method and one of the world’s most widely used method for managing projects. It helps you work out who should be involved and what they will be responsible for. It gives you a set of processes to work through and explains what information you should be gathering along the way.

Our fully accredited PRINCE2 Foundation virtual course introduces you to PRINCE2, and helps prepare you for the Foundation examination which assesses whether you can demonstrate sufficient recall and understanding of the PRINCE2 project management method. This course fully conforms to the PRINCE2 6th Edition syllabus.

By the end of the PRINCE2 Foundation virtual course you should be able to:

  • Understand key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2
  • Understand how the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
  • Understand the PRINCE2 themes and how they are applied throughout the project

This is an intensive three-day virtual course, that includes the following:

  • All accompanying course material (digital)
  • Online pre-course
  • The official PRINCE2 manual (digital)
  • PRINCE2 process map (digital)
  • The cost of the PRINCE2 Foundation examination (valid for 12 months from purchase date. Exam must be taken online via remote proctor)

Materials

Digital ILX course materials: These will be accessible via the ILX portal. Full instructions with a link to the portal will be issued within 48 hours of your confirmed booking.The course materials will be provided in a PDF format and available for download. You will need to download and save the materials to your device, so that you can annotate them during the training course.

Digital official manual: You will be sent an email invitation approximately two working days prior to course commencement to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to access the digital version of your manual. Please note: There is a 5-year limitation in accessing your eBook.

Hardcopy official manual: If you decide to purchase the hardcopy official manual as an optional extra your manual will be shipped to your chosen address within 48 hours of purchase.

Hardcopy PRINCE2 process map: If you decide to purchase the hardcopy PRINCE2 process map as an optional extra it will be shipped to your chosen address within 48 hours of purchase.

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation approximately two working days prior to course commencement to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to book your online exam at a date and time of your choice. You are responsible for booking your own exam. Recertification: This certification has a renew within three years of the award date to remain current. There are multiple ways to recertify, more information regarding the options can be found here.

Exam format

The format of the exam is as follows:

  • 60 minute exam duration
  • 60 questions
  • Closed book
  • 33/60 required to pass = 55% pass mark

This is an intensive course that requires you to complete mandatory online pre-course study, which is designed to take approximately two to three hours to complete. Which software does ILX use to run its virtual classroom?

ILX uses Zoom to deliver our virtual classrooms. You will be provided with a link to the event two weeks prior to course commencement within your joining instructions. When you click on the link, Zoom will load on your browser.

Can I run a system check in advance of my course?

Do I need to use a headset?

We strongly recommend that all delegates use a headset as this will enhance the learner experience. It also removes the possibility of audio feedback.

How will I take my exam?

You will take your exam online via remote proctor.

When will I take my exams?

ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued to you two weeks prior to course commencement. You then have a choice you can either:

  • Book a suitable time after your virtual classroom event has finished to undertake your exam(s)
OR
  • We currently allocate exam time within the virtual classroom event. So that you can book directly, we will advise you of recommended exam timings as part of the candidate guidance -- this is issued three weeks prior to course commencement

Who books my exam(s)?

You book your own exam at a date and time convenient to you. We appreciate some delegates want additional study time after the virtual classroom whereas others want to take their exams at the end of the event. This allows you to make your own decision and provides flexibility as to what works for you as an individual.

When will I receive my exam results?

For web-based exams, results are immediate, subject to final verification from the Examination Institute.
